Caruso

In 2002 Willowlake Farm's Caruso was stallion champion as well as mature horse and reserve grand champion at the two USDF breed shows he competed in, with scores up to 82%.

Caruso born April 19, 2005. Caruso was born in 1998 in Telgte, (Westfalia) and was approved by the German Westfalian Verband in 2000. He is black and stands 16.3 HH and was in training with Nicole Uphoff in Germany. He completed his 100-day testing in Ohio in August 2002.

Caruso’s pedigree is an interesting combination of Holstein, Selle Francais and Westfalian bloodlines. His grandsire Calypso I, full brother to Calypso II, has more than 15 approved sons and over a 120 offspring registered as sport horses, both in dressage and jumping. So far he has a total earnings of well over 20 million Deutsch Marks.

Calypso I is regarded as one of the top sires in Holstein who, as almost no other in that region, produces horses that are successful both in dressage and jumping. Campari (Dr. R. Klimke) and Champus (Alexandra  Simmons-de Ridder) were both trained to Grand Prix, and Champus has over 70 wins and placings to his name in national and international competitions.

Caruso has produced  three premium GOV foals out of Graziella.  Graziella is currently in foal for 2006 by Caruso.
