In 2005, Don Principe has earned the title of "Grand Champion" three times and "Reserve Grand Champion" once at USDFBC shows. Don Principe holds the highest score given to a stallion in hand in 2005, an amazing 84.95% Under rider/trainer Jim Koford, Don Principe has competed in the Markal FEI Young Horse qualifiers and finished fourth overall at the National Championships.
Donnerhall
Don Principe's sire, Donnerhall, should be considered one of the best stallions in the later half of the 20th Century. His talent was apparent right from the start, and he scored 131.92 to be second in his performance test at Adelheidsdorf in 1984. Donnerhall’s competition career is the stuff of legend. He won many Grand Prix, Grand Prix Specials and Freestyles. In 1994, Donnerhall was individual bronze medallist (and team gold medallist) at the 1994 World Championships at The Hague. Donnerhall won the European World Cup Freestyle League final standings twice, in 1997 and 1998. He retired from competition in 1998. Known for throwing his superb character, temperament and willingness to work, Donnerhall offspring are successful in sport the world over. The 2007 Hanoverian Stallion book records that Donnerhall has had 763 dressage competitors - and even 84 in the jumping ring - for total prizemoney of Euro 1,502,302. Donnerhall has an FN dressage ranking of 153, jumping, 83. His Hanoverian ranking is 169 for dressage and 69 for jumping. He is the sire of 48 licensed sons.
Prince Thatch xx
Don Principe's damsire, one of the most influential Thoroughbred stallions, Prince Thatch xx, is the sire of many high priced auction horses in Verden. High ridability, correct confirmation and rhythm is the hallmark of this wonderful typey stallion. Prince Thatch xx has been ranked #9 on the VhW list in Germany - a rare honor for a Thoroughbred. He was 3rd of 28 with 126.88 points (Dressage 132.04) at his Adelheidsdorf Performance Test in 1989. One of his impressive sons, Piccolino, was among the top ranked horses on the German Dressage team and in 2003 helped secure the Team Gold for Germany at the European Dressage Championships and placed 6th individually.
